I was around twelve years old when I got my first camera. The one thing I really wanted for Christmas a cheap Polaroid. Prior to that I occasionally was allowed to use the "Family Kodak".My big break came as a sophomore in High School when my art teacher recognized my interest and talent and essentially, made me the school photographer. In the next three years I learned by experience and self teaching, shooting, developing and printing hundreds of rolls of Black and White film.
The first twenty plus years was spent working for a local camera/photo speciality store. In no time, due to my high level of interest and desire to learn, I became the guy all the pro and "week-ender" photographers came to for help. I learned a lot from my customers. I learned about lighting, posing, composition and equipment. More importantly, I learned what not to do. I learned what it means to be a real pro.
Missie (my wife) and I started Studio B over ten years ago. Wedding, Portrait and Commercial Photography was and continues to be the focus of our business. It's been a wild ride growing and transitioning to digital photography. We've been blessed in our business. With a staff of five, I'm convinced that Studio B has one of the most talented creative teams in the business. Apparently our clientele agrees.
I love what I do. People say it shows in my work. |
